Elke Heitmeyer After over 18 hours of a total electrical blackout all over the mountain (due to nearby fires), the Center was able to grant this year's Humanitarian Award to Elke Heitmeyer on August 8. The Center now has a small generator! The power came back on just as we were setting up! About 30 people attended, and it was a very nice event. Lynne and SunJay played music, and Mel Weinstein took photographs. An article was in the local newspaper on August 14.
