Delores Huerta, Founder of the United Farm
Workers Union. She collaborated with Cesar Chavez during
the famous grape strike. She reminded us that when they
began their march to Sacramento in the '60's, they started
with 70 people. By the time the made it to Sacramento,
there were 10,000 marchers. |
Q'orianka Kilcher, actress/songwriter.
This 19-year old artist from Peru blew us all away. When
the Peruvian government recently shot down protestors
from helicopters (civilians, including children), she
returned to Peru, bought 50 video cameras, disseminated
them to people, and documented the events. It was on Tweeter
within moments. She exemplifies her generation and their
positive utilization of technology. It's worth checking
her out on YouTube. |
