During the summer months, the Jizo Peace Center will hold meditations beginning at 12:00 pm - noon - on the first and third Sundays of the month, including June 7 and June 21, July 5 and July 19, August 2 and August 16, September 4. Ruth will give a prayer or brief chant at the beginning of the service, followed by a half-hour meditation, and then we will have tea and cookies. For more information contact (661) 242-6956. Map to the Center: Take Interstate 5 North, approximately 50 miles north of Los Angeles, to the Frazier Mountain Park Road exit. Go West on Frazier Mountain Road that also changes to Cuddy Valley Road for approximately 12 miles. Then turn right on Mil Portrero Road, which is a winding mountain road for approximately 8 miles, that changes from North to a Westerly direction. Turn left or South on Woodland Avenue. Go up the hill (a long stretch) to Bernina Avenue. Turn right or West a short block to Zermatt Avenue, and there turn left or South. Continue up the hill. The second right is Pioneer Way, which curves around further up the hill. The Jizo Peace Center is on the left - 2012 Pioneer Way.
